Furniture Shipping and Delivery
All of our furniture is shipped directly from the manufacturer via a third party shipping company. We use only those delivery companies that are known to us and have provided excellent service. We do everything within our power to provide you with a timely and stress-free delivery experience. But sometimes things happen that are out of our control. If you encounter any delivery problems, please let us know and we will do our best to quickly resolve them. If there are any factors that could affect your delivery (for example, you live on an island or have multiple flights of stairs), please let us know at the time that you place your order.
It is your resonsibility to ensure that any furniture pieces will fit during the delivery process. Please read our Measuring for Delivery Guide for more help on this.
Delivery date and time
When you place your order, we will provide an estimated delivery date, taking into account our knowledge of the manufacturer’s lead time. However, this is only an estimate, and not a guarantee of a specific delivery date. As we receive status reports from the manufacturer, we will provide you with an updated estimated delivery date. Occasionally, our manufacturers may experience production delays. We will notify you if we learn that a delay is likely. Once the order has left the factory, we will let you know.
Most shipping companies schedule deliveries Monday – Friday between 9am and 5pm. Usually, the shipping company will contact you at least 48 hours before they plan to be in the vicinity to schedule a delivery date and time. If you are unable to agree upon a delivery date and time during the period that the shipping company is in your area, you may be charged a fee for storage and/or reshipping.
If you need to reschedule your delivery date or time, please call the shipping company as soon as possible in order to avoid a fee for missing the appointment. If you do miss your appointment, you may be charged a fee.
Please schedule your delivery appointment for a time when an adult will be home to receive your items. Signatures are required for all furniture orders.
The shipping company will place your furniture inside your home in a room of your choosing, and will remove all packing materials. If you are thinking about returning an item, we recommend that you keep all packaging materials, as items must be returned in their original condition and packaging. Where we ship
At this time, we are able to ship ONLY within the 48 contiguous states. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, we will be happy to try to find a shipping solution. In that case, The Stated Home will pay shipping to the necessary receiver in the 48 contiguous states, and the customer will be responsible for paying for the additional transport. Please contact us before you place your order so that we can determine the best course of action. We are unable to ship to PO boxes or Military APOs. We do not ship internationally.
We are pleased to offer free shipping on most furniture deliveries. However, it does not cover additioanl charges that may incur due to difficulty getting the piece into your room-of-choice (due to large amounts of stairs or elaborate manuevering for example) and you will be responsible for those additional costs. if your home cannot be reached using regular delivery methods or if there are additional fees, such as ferry fees, you will be responsible for any additional costs. If there are any unique factors that may affect your delivery, please let us know at the time you place your order. We will discuss any additional charges prior to finalizing your order.
